The Gate 193 Expansion project added additional aircraft gates to Terminal 1 at Pearson International Airport.
This contract involved construction of five gate pods with glass clad passenger boarding bridges and an addition to the building, featuring an architectural curved roof structure. An electrical building and an outbound escalator building were also constructed. Renovations included selective demolition and removal as well as patching and repairing existing building components and systems.
Construction occurred within the secure terminal building and airside areas. This involved managing work while continuously interfacing with airport operations, security, and permitting departments.
To avoid disruptions and interference, the construction zone was isolated with several aspects of the work in public areas and on building systems completed during off-peak and overnight hours.
